ATAI will deploy a Continuous Improvement Program at Kern Pharma

KP logoATAI’s team, in association with the marketing consulting firm Innovatius, will deploy a Continuous Improvement Program (K-LEAN) at Kern Pharma. Kern Pharma is an Indukern group company focused on two main business activities: (1) developing, manufacturing and marketing pharmaceuticals; and (2) providing services in development, contract manufacturing and chemical production for third parties.

Today, competition in the pharma industry is increasing due to public spending cut, demanding regulations - such as the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) - and patent protection. These factors make laboratories be more efficient and gain flexibility to better fit the market changes. K-LEAN will provide the required baseline to create an operational excellence culture in the organization with the ultimate goal of “make today better than yesterday, and tomorrow better than today”, as Manuel Garrido (General Manager at Kern Pharma) stated during the kick-off session.

K-LEAN Program will use Lean philosophy and Six Sigma methodology to optimize three key drivers: processes quality, use of software and tools, and the organization model.

kickoff KPThe kick-off session took place on November 16 and 19 in Sabadell. During the session, 80+ participants had the opportunity of learning LEAN principles and putting concept into practice through serious gameplay.
